I can see it in my head. The colorful lights shining in my eyes, the hot sweaty people crammed into the stadium next to me, the music so loud it might make me lose my hearing in my twenties, and all those other wonderful sensations that are associated with the formative concert experience.
It’s time to address the age old question that comes with this experience which I’m sure plagues you all just as it does me. In such a notorious city it’s no wonder that all the best artists manage to make their way here. I don’t know about you, but I collect concert tickets like baseball cards and the availability of concerts here proves to burn a hole in my wallet. This might not be such a big deal If we didn’t go to a university that costs 90k a year…cause that’s definitely reasonable.
Being a stem major and all, the only thing that really keeps me going is having a concert to look for. How could I realistically get through five chem quizzes and a final if staring into Niall Horan’s beautiful irish eyes was not in my near future? I mean what else could there be to live for? I’ve got six concerts on deck and you won't catch me letting that number fall to zero if I can help it. Life is short and though I’d like it to be shorter, then I wouldn’t be able to go to as many concerts. I know they say “you can’t put a price on happiness,” but you can definitely put a price on concert tickets and I have a credit card for a reason!
Some of you “responsible" or “sane” people will probably say that it’s “not that complicated, just don’t buy the tickets.” But you don’t get it, it’s not that simple. Sure I’ve got student loans breathing down my back, but concerts are experiences that last a lifetime and that response makes it obvious that you’re obviously uncultured. Degrees on the other hand seem to get more and more irrelevant as each day passes. If Conan Gray is coming to my city I can’t just not be there. And if I’m gonna go I might as well buy the $300 dollar tickets to be at the barricade right? The 360k in tuition, not including interest, to pay doesn’t bring anywhere near as much joy so choice seems to be a no brainer.
You know, now that I think about it, why did I even ask this question? I already knew what the answer was.
